Received the degree of Doctor in Industrial Chemistry in 1963 and remained as assistant Professor and Lecturer in Industrial Chemistry at the State University of Milan till 1973 when he joined the chemical Company Montedison. Till the end of1983 he served the Company as head of the Corrosion and Electrochemistry Dpt. of the G. Donegani Institute, at the time the major R&D Italian Center. In 1984 Faita was called by Gruppo De Nora for structuring and improving the R&D activities in Milan headquarters: the most important results were achieved in the field of process innovation, with special regard for the low energy consuming chlor-alkali and hydrochloric acid electrolysis. In 2000 Faita terminated the direct enrollment in Gruppo De Nora and became scientific advisor.
